Play-Doh for kids & their moms.

I am not a mom yet, but when I heard a few months ago, that play-doh is packed full of wheat, I felt something die in my heart. I imagined myself with doctor gloves, struggling to keep them on while playing with my future kids. Today I had a taste of it when my niece Jade asked me to get some out of the tube for her. I wanted so bad to just sit with her and create little dinosaurs with her. But no. I stayed far far away.

If you know your kids have them, and worry about them eating it or getting rashes on their hands (which you should), make your own! I found a recipe for gluten-free kind here .

Gluten-Free Play Dough
Ingredients:
½ cup rice flour
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon cooking oil
Food coloring, if desired
Directions:
Mix ingredients. Cook and stir on low heat for 3 minutes or until it forms a ball. Cool completely before storing in a sealable plastic bag.
